Hump Day!
Hello Ladies,
DH and I are in LR. We went in for his preop and they took his soon to be his cornea out of the deep freezer and into the refrigerator so it will be nice and thawed tomorrow morning. They are removing a cataract, doing the cornea transplant and doing that surgery where they get rid of the far sightedness. When he heals, he won't need glasses at all. The doctor said his cornea has died and he is surprised that Kenny isn't hurting. Kenny said, well it bothers me but not a lot of pain.
After his preop appointment, we went to the Clinton Library and then walked around old town and went to the old river bridge, which is historic. Then, we went to the capital and on to the VA memorial. We kicked butt today getting things done.
Now he is passed out on the bed in our hotel. We will stay in the hotel tonight, go for surgery tomorrow early, stay in recovery until they are sure his cornea attached, come back to the ER, and then Friday morning back for a check up and hopefully home.
Vic, you know, I imagine that getting back in to the swing of things is going to take time and right now going through the motions is hard enough. You will get your groove back. I know how disaster finds your daughter because my daughter is the same damn way...sometimes it is accidental but most of the time it is her being irresponsible. We just paid her gas bill and yesterday, she called DH and said she needed 100 dollars to pay for our grandson's graduation ad, which we paid. It's always something.
Eileen, I am so glad your brother is there because you have someone to do things with and get out and about. Being alone sucks and now you have him there to help you, which is good.
Connie, I hope you are staying cool and not overdoing it...you start to feel a little better and then you over do it and your fibro flares up. You and I are so much a like it isn't even funny...we are shakers and movers. That's what I love about you.
Judy girl, I hope your funny farm fans are not being too mean to you and your real family is doing better.
For everyone else, Ladies, you know you are in my heart and I know your struggles because for all of us, we will always be fat ladies trying to survive the stigma and the emotional struggles.
I will post later when the old man falls asleep. I need to tell you guys about the woman in the restroom at the place where we ate...it was not pretty.
Hello my dear Jeannie....yes...stupid me way over did. This afternoon my pain has skyrocketed. I should know better. I always try to get as much done as possible when I am feeling better. We are a lot alike!!
I am thinking of you and your hubby about tomorrow. I want the surgery to go well. (I will be praying)
It sounds like you both had a busy but fun day around town!!
I am not sure I want to read the post about the woman in the restroom....LOL!!!!
I love you...hugs.....connie d
Good Evening Ladies!
I have been trying to avoid the world this week as I am constantly thinking of food! However I am not being too successful as life is full of interruptions.Did anyone cheat on their pre-op diet? I have become very tired and kind of weak so I rationalized sugar free fat free pudding would be okay, and help me out. Actually it hasn't helped, but 10 days in at 750 calories is breaking me down. All I want to do is sleep!
Whine...whine...
I have been following everyone's posts...always a lot going on...
Carla, good luck on your upcoming surgery. And your granddaughter is precious.
You and Trish sure run around...especially with the grandchildren.
Cindi, glad you made it safely to your mom's. I am sure she is tickled to have you there and appreciates all your help. It is hard to watch our parents age..
Jeannie, I hope your husband's eye surgery is uneventful. It sounds like you are both getting into a relaxed mode before it takes place.
Connie, sorry you are having a painful day, but you continue to soldier on!
Vickie, love those bears...what a sweet idea...I think they would sell well!
Eileen, you sound like a new person since your brother moved in! BRAIN sandwiches? That was one item that DIDN'T make me think of food!
Trish, I admire the fundraising you do for cancer and strong commitment to your church and students.
Can't recall if Mary or Cindy posted recently...but I am thinking of you all.
Kathy
Hello Kathy....yes... you can have the SF FF pudding...at least I could. Hang in there sweetie you are almost there now!!!
NO, I never cheated one morsel when I was on my 2 week liquids. It wasn't easy!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!
My pain is getting worse....I need to quit posting.
I love you...hugs....connie d
A very quick update on the woman in the bathroom and lunch and dinner.
So, on our way down the mountain and over the valley to LR, we kept hearing this sound like something rolling so we stopped to figure out what it was and apparently it was nothing but moving our luggage around fixed it and I was cold, so I grabbed a warmer shirt and headed to the bathroom at the gas station where we stopped to check the sound. I went into a stall to change shirts and then I hear people come in and this woman starts talking and the next thing I know, she and another woman are rolling on the floor fighting--on the nasty bathroom floor, right in front of my stall so I cannot get out--and they were cussing and punching and I asked them to move so I could get out of my stall and they stopped fighting, said, oh, I'm so sorry, move so I can get to the sink where I rinsed water on my hands and without drying them, started for the door and those two *****es started fighting again..back on the floor...I went to the cashier and said, there are two women in the bathroom fighting and she said, again? I said, they've done it before and she said, yep...they are cousins and Cinda, the fat one, married Loriann's husband and they fight every time they see each other. I couldn't freakin' believe it. when I got to the car, I said, man, there were these two women fighting in the bathroom and my husband said, hell, if they are the same women I saw, they were hitting each other by the gas pumps...hell....only in AR
I forgot...we ate lunch at this really nice little sandwich shop and later, we left our hotel and headed to a Mexican restaurant and you will not believe who was in the same damn place...yep...the two women: one on one side of the place and the other on our side...the waitress told the woman on our side, if you guys act up, I'm calling the cops. and they had their kids with them...can you even imagine?
